  • What is a cubic yard?

Is the area within 3 ft x 3 ft x 3 ft cube. One cubic yard of dumpster area equals approximately 200 gallons of material or roughly (2) 96-gallon toters.

  • What size dumpster do I need?

There is no set rule of thumb to determine the size of the container you will need.

If you are tearing a roof off, you can make an accurate estimate using the following formula. This formula does not take into account other trash or decking.

Take the number of square of roofing to be torn off:

Multiply by the number of layers:

    Equals TOTAL number of squares:

Divide the total squares by 4:

This equals approximate number of cubic yards needed:

    30 squares

    x 2 layers

    60 squares

    / 4(sq/c.y.)

    approx. 15 cu. yds

  • How much does it cost to get a dumpster?

This varies by 3 main factors; 1) location; 2) type of material you are disposing of; and 3) the size of the dumpster. Different types of material have different weights. Disposal options affect the price. To ensure that you get the most accurate price for your job, give us a call.

  • What types of items can and CANNOT be put in the dumpster?

We accept most solid waste material including most routine household and construction waste. We also accept tree limbs and some landscaping materials. Heavy materials may be restricted to certain size containers (10, 15 or 20 yards). The weight would exceed DOT regulations and be unsafe to haul.

We DO NOT accept liquids, tires, pesticides, insecticides, chemicals, paints, oil, fluorescent light tubes, propane tanks, TVs, monitors or any other hazardous/toxic waste, radioactive waste, or “special" waste defined by applicable local, state, and federal laws.

We do not accept refrigerators, freezer units, and air conditioners unless they have been cleaned of any/all coolants. They must also be properly tagged by a licensed technician.

  • How long can I keep the dumpster?

Dave's Trucking includes two week FREE (14 days of usage) with every open-top roll-off dumpster. Based on season, size and availability we may have specials which include additional FREE days of usage. Call us or you can submit an e-mail request.

Dumpsters start accruing daily charges of $5 per day after the included free daily usage period. (Additional terms may apply if the container sits for more than 14 days.)

  • How do I pay for the dumpster?

Dave's Trucking accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover by phone. We also accept cash, money orders, or pre-approved checks (with driver's license verification).

Commercial charge accounts are available for qualified commercial clients. Contact Craig Pitcock for information on commercial charge accounts.

  • Where can I place the dumpster?

Your driveway is the best location, but you tell us where you would like it. There may be some restrictions but most flat hard locations on your property will work. Our courteous staff will work with you to provide the best placement. Street or alley placement requires a right-of-way permit.

  • Does anybody need to be there for placement of the dumpster?

No, just let us know where you would like it placed.

There are some circumstances such as street placement or other special situations which may require someone to be there for authorization. If someone needs to be there, we will let you know when you place your order.

  • How full can I fill my dumpster?

To the top. You can fill the dumpster completely full. The material must NOT exceed the top edge of the dumpster. We need to be able to safely tarp the container and ensure that no material will fly out of the container as it is being hauled.
